Digital flexo plates offer solutions for all – including the precision and printing stability once realised only in gravure and offset. Laser imaging directly onto “into” the LAMS layer conveys huge benefits across all YRG computer-generated polymer products. In particular, “imaging in contact” change to “direct laser imaging” gives sharper, almost vertical shoulders, minimising the ink-trapping and dot gain so often associated with the flexo process.
Digital Flexo Sleeves
Although significantly “faster and” less costly than traditional gravure “cylinder manufacture”, flexo polymer sleeves offer the same outstanding quality and resolution. Printers and end-users alike are discovering the many advantages and cost benefits of this superb new sleeve technology.
Seamless flexo printing also competes powerfully with flat-plate production, offering considerable savings in wastage, set-up time and press standing time and eliminating time losses caused by joint filling. In addition, plate lift is eradicated so press speeds are significantly faster.
YRG’s flexo sleeves are not only more durable than flat-plate, but they are also recyclable: each sleeve may be recycled with savings to be made on every re-use. Indeed, the whole process is waste-efficient: even our solvents are processed in our recycling unit, maximising benefits to clients and the environment alike.
